You have got to be kidding me!

After a roller coaster start, I want to remember this amazing jouney of my life!

March 11, 2012

After days of constant worry and speculation, my pregnancy was confirmed thanks to a Clearblue pregnancy test on Sunday night! I guess my period was not late because of running, losing weight or stress!

I thought I knew what a "Oh My God!" feeling felt like. I was wrong until that blue line popped up! Scared, excited, nervous, nauseas, clueless... all at once!
After a 2 hour car ride with my best friend, I realized that I was going to be a mother!

J was/is 100% supportive and has said everything I would have wanted to hear. I am truly a lucky girl to have such a kind and comforting better half!

March 12: J and I had dinner at Texas Roadhouse as parents to be!
March 13: I bought prenatal viatamins and "What to Expect When You are Expecting" from Target. Everything is still so surreal. It has not sunk in at all. The only thing that has sunk in is shear terror and worry! How am I going to tell my mom? Josh's mom? My boss? ahh!!

March 15: Break the news to the Grandmas! Jaci took the news well. Grandma Hurley, not so well.

March 17th: Started bleeding. J and I rushed to the ER thinking I was having a miscarriage. To say we were scared is a total understatement. I can't imagine what it's like to see your other half hooked up to an IV (they couldn't find a vein which resulted in being poked 3 times! Once he found a vein, he didn't clamp the tube and it was a squirting mess)! I had nurses in and out as well as a doctor trying to explain to me what he was going to do. All I could think about was losing my baby : (

Summary of ER trip:
Positive urine pregnacy test
Cervix is closed (thanks to a pelvic exam, ugh)
Vaginal ultrasound showed a gestational sac (yoak)
I also saw a teeny tiny white dot, which I was told could be my baby!
She told me that the sac was exactly where it should be! Nice and high!
HCG blood level: 5,000
Dr said to return in 2 days to have hcg levels re-checked. Hoping that my number doubles or tripples!

Doctor told me that at this point, he should see some kind of heartbeat. I am apparently just not very far along. According to my LMP, I would be 7 weeks pregnant. However, with that date, my days of conceptions don't make any sense. In reality, I am about 5 weeks pregnany at this visit.

March 19: return to the ER at 5:30 am for more labs! After hours of waiting, the doctor said my levels were now around 8,800! Not exactly doubled, but progression! First appointment with Dr. Powers on friday!
March 23: First appointment with the Dr that will be delivering my baby! J and I get to the Dr office only to find out that Dr. P is stuck at the hospital and not coming in : ( What a bummer! We filled out papers and spoke to the insurance lady! Holy expensive baby! Next appointment, Friday the 30th!
J also scored some baby stuff from his sister! :)

March 25: Mom bought us a crib and changing table! It honestly still hasn't sunk in that the baby furniture in the guest room is going to be for our baby!
